COVER: "Jekyll and Hyde" (with xHanyuu) -- Singing is Hard, Y'all

So recently, xHanyuu (who also invited me to do a "Doki Doki Forever" cover with her and two of her friends) called me in asking if I'd like to do a cover of "Jekyll and Hyde" with her. The song was composed by FantasticPlanets and features Hatsune Miku and IA -- the latter of whom is a voice databank from the -ARIA ON THE PLANETES- project. Funnily enough, xHanyuu asked me to do this with her just after I'd researched IA for some Crunchyroll posts, so it was fresh in my mind.

It was super fun... but man I forgot how hard Vocaloid songs are to do.

I feel a bit bad as the request came in right around convention-time, and right after coming home I had a bit of both work and health recovery to get through. In the end, I had to record this three times because I managed to peak out constantly. Cranking back my recording volume helped, but... you get the idea.

Definitely hoping to cover some more Vocaloid tunes (solo or with others) in the near future.

"Jekyll and Hyde" is a wild duet, as you can probably surmise from the title. Miku and IA are two halves of the same girl, confronting each other over love and betrayal. In the end, they accept each other -- and the song depicts the relationship between the two halves of the main character's mind as, er... very physical. But that means the song is super intense, and was a big reason of why it was so fun to tackle.

I hope you enjoy it. And be sure to check out the rest of xHanyuu's tunes and voice work!
